Oatie Biscuits
Makes 24-30
Ingredients
- 3 oz. self-raising flour
- 3 oz. caster sugar
- 3 oz. oats
- 3 oz. margarine
- 1 tablespoon of golden syrup
- ½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 1 teaspoon milk
(at this stage you can add ground/crystallised ginger, or chocolate chips, or dried fruit)
Method
- Melt 3 oz. margarine and 1 tablespoon of golden syrup
- Add ½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda dissolved in 1 teaspoon milk
- Add the above to the dry ingredients and mix together well
- Form into walnut sized pieces, and flatten with back of a fork
- Bake at 180°C for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown, and cool on a tray. If not crisp enough, return to oven for a little longer.
